Congratulations Jim!

If you haven’t heard by now, Jim has been nominated for his second Emmy for his role as Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory! Yay, go Jim!

He didn’t win last year, so we hope that this year will make up for that! Unfortunately no nomination for The Big Bang Theory this year.

His fellow nominees are: Matthew Morrison (Glee), Steve Carell (The Office), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Tony Shalhoub (Monk), and Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasum).

The Emmy awards will be held on Sunday, 29th August 2010.

Jim and The Big Bang Theory both nominated for TCA Awards!

Jim has been nominated for Individual Achievement in Comedy, the same award he won last year. This year he is nominated alongside Ty Burrell (‘Modern Family,’ ABC), Jane Lynch (‘Glee,’ Fox), Nick Offerman (‘Parks and Recreation,’ NBC) and Eric Stonestreet (‘Modern Family,’ ABC).

The Big Bang Theory has been nominated for Oustanding Achievement in Comedy, alongside ‘Glee’ (Fox), ‘Modern Family’ (ABC), ‘Parks and Recreation’ (NBC) and ‘Party Down’ (Starz).

Awards will be handed out on July 31 during TCA week in Los Angeles.

Upcoming film role for Jim!

According to comingsoon.net, Jim has been cast in a supporting role in the upcoming film ‘The Big Year’.

Rashida Jones, Angelica Huston and Jim Parsons have joined the cast of Fox 2000 comedy The Big Year.

They join a cast that includes Rosamund Pike, JoBeth Williams, Brian Dennehy, Dianne Wiest, Anthony Anderson and Tim Blake Nelson. Kevin Pollak and Joel McHale are in talks to come on board as well.

Starring Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson, the David Frankel-directed film started shooting today. Howard Franklin wrote the script.

Based on Mark Obmascik’s 1998 book “The Big Year: A Tale of Man, Nature and Fowl Obsession,” The Big Year is about three men who try to outdo each other in a bird-watching competition to spot the rarest birds in North America. The rivalry is an allegory for the challenges each faces in his own life.

Jones (“Parks and Recreation”) plays the love interest of Black’s character, Huston’s character captains ocean-going expeditions, and Parsons (“The Big Bang Theory”) plays the author of a popular avian blog.
